After many years of restoration and reconstruction, the Museo del Duomo reopened its doors last year. It is now one of the world’s finest museums, housing over 750 works of art directly related to the Duomo, spanning more than 720 years of artistic activity by many of the most important artists in world history.

Entering the museum, you will be fascinated by the amazing amount of natural light which illuminates such magnificent works of art such as the Baptistery doors by Ghiberti and Michelangelo’s Florentine Pietà, to name only a few of the outstanding works of art spread out over a space of 6,000 square meters, in 25 galleries situated on three floors.

This museum will likely leave you breathless as it did me. You will find yourself forgetting time and wanting to return to see this incredible collection again and again.
